Massage & Bowen Therapy

Balance, rest, restore

Debra provides treatments that focus on the whole of the body to promote health and wellbeing as each session is tailored to suit your requirements.

Debra started Bowen therapy many years ago to help friends and family. This quickly progressed in me wanting to be able to help a broader range of people so I proceeded to engage in Massage therapy training. I developed an understanding about the physical and emotional aspects of pain and tension coupled with my knowledge from Bowen I gained a unique skillset to be able to treat pain and. Tension from the cause.I provide ongoing care to help you maintain your freedom from pain. I continue to expand my range of knowledge with  advanced courses to widen my scope of practice.

Swedish massage

This is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It’s sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.

Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief from stress

  • Benefits include Increased mobility and circulation
  • Helping to promote sleep and deep relaxation
  • Reduces anxiety and depression

Deep tissue massage uses many of the same stroking and kneading movements as Swedish massage, but there’s far more pressure.

In order to reach the deep muscle tissue, a therapist will massage layer by layer of muscle, applying more and more pressure and employing special techniques.

This type of massage facilitates healing by releasing contracted areas of muscle and tissue. It can help increase blood flow to the soft tissues and may help to reduce inflammation

Sports Massage

In addition to improving range of motion, “post-workout massage helps reduce spasms and cramping, helps relax and soften the injured, overused, tired muscles, and helps to stretch and exercise weak, tight and atrophied muscles

Pre-event massage warms and stimulates the muscles both aiding in faster recovery and reducing the risk of injury.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen remedial body technique that works on the soft connective tissue (fascia) of the body. Bowen therapy including acute sports injuries and chronic or organic conditions.

The Bowen technique is safe to use on anyone, from newborns to the elderly and for any musculoskeletal or related neuromuscular complaint. It is a holistic treatment that treats the whole person and aims to treat the cause of problems, rather than the symptoms

It is gentle and relaxing and does not use forceful manipulation.

This treatment of fascial kinetics uses a series of selectively placed moves ,each treatment addresses the whole body not just the areas of pain It balance sand stimulates energy flows resulting in a deep and overall sense of relaxation A restorative process begins once the body is relaxed and this continues after the treatment

The Bowen treatment brings about effective results by penetrating to a deep cellular level stimulating the body’s unique ability to heal itself.
